M&D of Hays Completes 1,800-Foot River Bore Using UNI 250x400 Rig

M&D of Hays Company has successfully completed a challenging directional drilling project using the powerful UNI 250x400 rig. The operation began with an 1,800-foot, 12-inch pilot bore completed on the first day. On the second day, crews reamed and pulled a 10-inch steel pipe through 1,800 feet of heavy sand, groundwater, gravel, and cobble—75 feet deep beneath a riverbed. Following that, work resumed on the fourth day to complete a second 1,800-foot bore for a 20-inch steel pipe. The team first prereamed an 18-inch hole, then opened it to 30 inches for final installation. The complex multi-day job showcased the UNI 250x400’s power and efficiency in extreme subsurface conditions.
